The PT Minute: How much money can I expect to be reimbursed from my insurance provider?

The PT Minute

This week’s PT Minute question:
“How much money can I expect to be reimbursed from my insurance provider?”

Nicole Babka, BS, CPT, HKC – I submit insurance claim reimbursements monthly and we have a pretty high success rate for reimbursement.  We receive checks from Insurance Providers weekly and pass them on to the patients.  On average, you can expect to receive 60 to 80% of your claim amount back.  That means your dedicated one-on-one physical therapy session will cost you between $35 and $70 – that is often less than your required co-pay/co-insurance payment at an In-Network clinic.
