The PT Minute: Why does a Combine Matter?

The PT Minute

This week’s PT Minute question:
“Why does a Combine matter?”

Dr. Carlos J Berio – How can you get where you are going without knowing where you are right now? A sport specific combine is the benchmark for where all programming will be created and how it can be appropriately progressed for maximum performance benefits.

Dr. Ivy Jordan – In order to design an optimal training plan, you need to know where you currently are and where you want to be. The Sport Combines give an athlete a baseline assessment of their current function, where the gaps are in their training and a resulting roadmap to close up those gaps and enhance athletic performance.

Dr. Kristen Lattimore – Everyone wants to be good at their sport. The combine shows you what specific areas of strength, flexibility, power, or athleticism you need to improve upon in order to be your best at the sport you love. You have to know WHAT needs to improve in order to take steps toward better play!
